Aloha Friday, We're Talking Movies here!

Finally, it's Friday!!  Happy Aloha Friday! The day to take it easy and prepare for the weekend. For me this is my last Friday at work for awhile. On Monday, I will be having a hysterectomy to get rid of some nasty cancerous cells. I'm not looking forward to the surgery, but I'm looking forward to kicking cancer's ass! And, I plan to make the most of my time out of work by getting caught up on some rest, reading, writing, and movie watching!

My question for you:

What movie(s) can you watch anytime?

I have a few of them: Grease, The Big Chill, Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia!, and Rocky Horror Picture Show (hmmm do you see a theme here? Yes! They all have great soundtracks!)

Enter to win a Bed Upgrade in the REMedy Giveaway

It only took a week of sleeping on a dorm bed for my daughter to start complaining of a backache, and being tired. As a freshman in college, she has so much going on, the last thing she should have to worry about is sleeping comfortably. The dorm beds just don't provide enough comfort and support for a good night's sleep.

This is where the REMedy Bed Upgrade Kit comes in. As soon as I could, I brought it to her dorm. The kit comes with a gel memory foam pillow, and a gel memory foam mattress pad in a reusable duffel bag. After sleeping on it for one night she called me and told me how good she slept. She said it was so comfortable and  her back wasn't hurting anymore.

Music Monday, A Little Bob Dylan

No theme this week on Monday Music Moves Me, It's a freebie week. I was listening to Adele, and her version of Bob Dylan's song "Make you Feel My Love" and it got me to wanting to hear the original. This is what led to me sharing some of my favorite Bob Dylan songs with you this week.

I saw a comment on YouTube that said "Bob never sang with his voice, he sings with his soul." I think that describes Bob Dylan perfectly! When he sings you feel the passion he has in every word. I hope you enjoy his passion as I do.

Have a happy Music Monday!

On This Day of Peace, What Will You Do?

I took this picture this weekend in New Orleans at St. Louis Cemetery #1. It seems like an appropriate picture for 09/21 because today is the International Day of Peace. That's what this lady reminds me of, someone who is just waiting for a little peace.

The Day of Peace is not just about finding peace between nations, it is also about finding peace in your personal relationships. Take a moment to put aside your differences and find peace in your life. At least for one day, if not longer...

Aloha Friday, New Orleans Burlesque

I will be away from home and Gasp, away from my computer, this weekend. I am taking a road trip with my husband and some friends to New Orleans. We will be enjoying all the great local food and music that NOLA has to offer. While we are there, so is the New Orleans Burlesque Fest, so we will be going to a show at The House of Blues, and I can't wait! I love the old Burlesque style, including all the cheesy Vaudeville style comedy performances. It is sure to be a good time!

So, since I'll be taking it easy in the Big Easy this weekend... I want to know...

What is your favorite type of vacation? Is it relaxing, adventurous, exploring? How do you want to spend your vacation time?

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. I know I will!

Wordless Wednesday, No Car Seat for this Baby's First Car Ride

We got our first new zombie baby of the Halloween Season. His name is Sammy Shivers. When you push on his belly he laughs and wiggles all over the place. It absolutely cracks me up, so I had to have him.

Can't help but think of the Jello theme song with this one watch it wiggle, see it jiggle

Aloha Friday, Do You Love Your Phone?

Hubby finally got a new phone! His old phone just suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago, so he was using my old one which was the original Android, and really seen better days. When I went to BlogHer, I spent some time with HTC giving them my opinion on phone accessories, and in exchange for my time, they gave me a NEW PHONE!

The HTC Sensation is a great phone, and I love it! It has a nice big screen, runs at 4g speeds, and has plenty of memory for all my apps. Since I love mine so much, hubby decided to get the same one. And, TMobile changed our plan to their new value plan, so even with the monthly cost of financing his phone, we're still paying less than we were on the old family plan! What a great day, a new phone and savings! Love it!

What kind of phone do you have? Do you love it or hate it?

I've been listening to the Brad Paisley album, "This is Country Music" and I really like it. So, I thought I'd share one of the best songs from the album to help you kick off your weekend. Enjoy "Old Alabama"!

Wordless Wednesday, Sittin' in the California Sun

On my trip to San Diego in August, I took an afternoon to take a stroll through the Seaport Village. I mean, I couldn't fly all the way from Florida to California, and not get in a little shopping, right?! Something about this old building on the water drew me in, and I had to snap a picture to remind me of this great day shopping in the California sun.

Music Monday, My 70's Memories

Happy Music Monday and to those of you in the U.S., Happy Labor Day! This week we're taking a walk down memory lane and remembering music from the 70's. I love 70's music, but most of it I didn't listen to until the 80's because I was born in 74'. But, there are a few songs that bring back very strong memories from my childhood.

My Dad's nick name for me was "Hot Shot" so when I heard this song, I thought it was just for me. hot shot in the cityof course, I had the lyrics, all wrong!

When I was 3, my mom would pick me up at the end of the week, when she was done with work, and I would lay my head on her lap as she drove us home, and she would always blast this song, and we would both sing along.

Again, the silly ideas of a child left me thinking this song was for me. I have brown eyes and no way did I want them to be blue. Don't you make my brown eyes blue

Thanks for walking down memory lane with me on this beautiful music Monday! Have a great one!

Hey, while you're hopping around the blogosphere, Head over to my fellow Tampa girl, Run DMT and wish her a happy anniversary! Also, if you link up to her Music Monday linky, you can be entered to win an Itunes gift card!
